July 2010 Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
100g of plain chocolate
12 large Strawberries or 18 medium ones
Icing sugar to dust strawberries
A glass or ceramic mixing bowl
Large saucepan with 300ml of water in it
A tray or large plate with greaseproof paper on
A wooden spoon
A serving plate
Pour the water into the saucepan and place on the stove until it simmers (nearly boiling).
Break the chocolate up into small pieces and put into the mixing bowl. Do not use a plastic bowl as it could melt.
Stand this bowl over the pan of simmering water and stir until the chocolate melts.
Wash your strawberries & gently dry them with a piece of kitchen roll.
When the chocolate has melted remove the bowl from the heat.
Dip each strawberry into the chocolate giving them a good coating then place them on the greaseproof paper to set. You can pop them into the fridge for 30 minutes.
When they have set transfer them to a serving plate & sprinkle with a little icing sugar.
