A Postcard from Exmoor 1 – April 9th 2020

April 9th 2020

We are reaching out to our customers and friends – sending you & your families our very best wishes and hoping that you are all safe and well. Our team at The White Horse would like collectively to thank you for the kind messages of support and friendship that we have received over the last few weeks.

Life here on Exmoor is completely surreal at the moment as we are sure it is with each and every one of you. In the silence the birdsong is simply mesmerising as our new residents move into their seasonal accommodation within the Virginia creeper, they add a pleasant distraction as we are standing scratching our heads in disbelief and wondering how we move on from here – so we have decided to introduce a series called “A Postcard from Exmoor” informing you of what we are all doing, both here at The Exmoor White Horse Inn and on Exmoor, in an effort to cheer both you and ourselves up.

At The Exmoor White Horse we have always valued our position being at the heart of the community, so in an effort to help our rural village and to make good use of our supply network – we have transformed ourselves into The Exford Community Shop and we now offer local delivery of groceries to those who are unable to go out for shopping at this time. Peter & Chef have embraced their new roles with gusto!

We have been busy in Reception, although we are not open for guests the phone is still ringing with enquiries for later in the year and for 2021. If you are thinking of making a booking or just wanting an update, we are always on hand to talk to you.

Our regular team are safely at home under the Furlough Scheme and we are keeping in touch and enjoying the photographs they send of how they are managing their days at home. Each and every one of us feel so lucky to live on Exmoor and hope that we can share a little of what we have with you – our beautiful views & wide open spaces really lift your spirits.

We plan to regularly keep in touch with all our valued customers to cheer both you and us up but in the meantime if you would like to see what else we are up to then please follow us on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. Whilst we realise how lucky we are to still be able to live and exercise in these beautiful surroundings, we are really missing everyone and we long to hear the noise and bustle of a normal day here at The Exmoor White Horse Inn

Keep safe and well

From Pete & Linda, and all the Staff at The Exmoor White Horse Inn
